Kia ora, I’m Amy, a Christchurch-based newborn and family photographer, mama of two, and a big believer in documenting the fleeting seasons of family life.
With over a decade of experience capturing families across New Zealand and Australia, my heart lies in creating images that feel honest, emotive, and deeply connected. Every family has a story worth remembering, and I’m here to help you hold onto yours.

My photography journey began in 2018 when I picked up my camera to document my own babies, and instantly fell in love with capturing the beauty in everyday moments.
What started as a way to freeze my own memories grew into a passion for storytelling that reached far beyond my own home. Before returning to Canterbury, I spent years in Melbourne refining my craft, working alongside boutique studios, and immersing myself in visual storytelling. When my family and I moved back to New Zealand, I knew I wanted to bring everything I’d learned home, and create heartfelt, honest imagery for families in our region.
Today, I photograph families across Christchurch and Canterbury with the same intention that started it all: to preserve the moments you’ll want to hold onto long after the seasons shift.

Becoming a mother reshaped everything, my work, my priorities, and my understanding of just how quickly these early years pass.
When my own babies were little, I found myself reaching for my camera constantly, trying to freeze time, to slow it all down, to remember. Those early months were tender and wild, exhausting and beautiful. And they taught me that mothers deserve to be in the frame, not just behind the camera. They deserve photographs that honour their strength, softness, and the quiet devotion woven into everyday life.
My motherhood journey fuels my work, it’s why I shoot with empathy, why I focus on comfort and connection, and why newborn safety and parent-led pacing always come first. I know how it feels to want these moments preserved… because I’ve been right there too.

My style is warm, natural, and honest, focused on storytelling rather than stiff posing.
I’m always watching for the moments in between: the movement, the emotion, the quiet glances that reveal who you are as a family. You won’t need to worry about what to do or how to stand. I’ll gently guide you into natural interactions that feel comfortable and real, especially if you’re camera shy (most parents are!).
I use soft, neutral tones to create images that feel timeless and true to life. Whether we’re shooting among Christchurch’s rolling hills, your favourite beach, or the comfort of your own home, my goal is always the same, photographs that feel like you.

Motherhood changed the way I see the world, and the way I photograph it. I know firsthand how quickly the seasons shift: the tiny details that feel unforgettable one moment are suddenly memories the next.
My “why” is simple, to help families hold onto the moments that matter most. I approach every session with gentleness, patience, and a deep respect for your story. I’m not interested in perfection or performance. I’m here to document connection, the way your baby curls into your chest, the way your toddler reaches for your hand, the softness that exists in the chaos.
To me, photography is more than beautiful images. It’s a legacy. These are the photographs your children will one day hold in their hands, the ones that will tell them: this is how loved you were.

My approach
Every family is different, every baby is different, and no session ever unfolds the same way, and that’s exactly what I love about this work. My approach is calm, flexible, and baby-led. I follow your pace, read your little one’s cues, and create space for natural connection to unfold.
Whether your newborn needs extra cuddles, your toddler wants to explore, or you’re feeling a little shy in front of the camera, I’ll guide you gently and help you feel at ease. My priority is that you feel relaxed, supported, and genuinely yourselves.
